I am very uneducated on insurance so any help is greatly appreiciated. I want to make sure it’s someone that my doctor and dentist will accept. My husband works but only makes about 800.00 a week not taking taxes out or gas out of his check so we do not quailify for healthy start. But there are people who do not work that get free everything from the state and a family working can not get help with medical insurance.

I don’t have general medical insurance on my kids, but I do have a catastrophic illness coverage. Why pay over $1000 per month for insurance that covers a $100 doctors visit? Doesn’t he realize that if your young and healthy, that medical insurance is a waste of money?

Lets face it, medical insurance is expensive and is the number one reason why most Americans cannot afford health care coverage. While many employees can purchase health insurance through their job, other employees cannot purchase health coverage if they are self employed or work at an employment site that does not provide health coverage.
In your opinion, what would you say are reasons why Americans do not decide to purchase medical insurance other than the cost of getting health care?

Okay……..since when did “promoting the general welfare” go beyond roads, infrastructure, and basic public services, and start including social security retirement? Unemployment compensation? And now nationalized medical insurance?

My husband might be laid-off soon. After COBRA runs-out, we’d need to buy medical insurance. I called Blue Cross for a quote and they said they would not provide ANY medical coverage for my 14-year old daughter who sees a psychiatrist for anxiety and who takes prescription medicine for the anxiety. Are there any insurance companies who will cover her for medical (not just the therapy, but for all medical)? I’m stunned.
