My parents from India will be visiting me in UK, where I live, for about 6 months.

1. I would like to know do they need to purchase medical insurance for their stay here in UK for these 6 months?
2. Where do I go if I need medical assistance when they are here? Can I go to any hospital where we go? What documents would be required for their treatment?
3. If yes, can somebody tell me how much it costs for a person about 70 years of age ? And when can I buy it from?

My mother aged 57 is visiting US from India. She will be here 6 months from Dec 09. I think I need to buy a medical insurance for her. Tata-AIG charges $ 220. While there are other policies at $ 300 – $ 1000. (All are charges for the whole 6 months. They are not “per month”.)

b. What risk I have if I do not buy her a insurance.
