Is it better to see a Concierge doctor or a doctor from your medical insurance at your job?

Red-Beauvais asked:

Concierge medicine is a relationship with a primary care physician in which the patient pays an annual fee or retainer. Rather than seeing a doctor thru my medical insurance which is kinda a pain in the ****. I just think that the Health Care system (insurance) is soo messed up. Let me know if you were satisfied with Concierge Medicine.

You are going to get much more personalized attention with a “concierge” physician.

I’m not in primary care, but that’s the route I’d take if I was. Many doctors are tired of having insurance companies tell them what is right for their patients, when the insurance companies are really most interested in their balance sheets.

I’ve heard some physicians say that the change to concierge medicine made them enjoy practicing again. If you can afford it, that’s the way to go.

Your insurance may reimburse you for part of your expenses, but you’ll have to file the claims yourself.
