How important is medical insurance apart from IT exemption?
I have a medical coverage from my recruiter, my question is by having medical insurance does it adds value to the portfolio and life in general? How important it is to have a medical insurance in this fast changing world?

PS:- I’m citizen of India so please reply as per Indian laws 
well let me put it this way it becomes extremely important to have med ins when you need to see dr. due to illness or accident and do not have the money to pay for the care you recieve thus putting you into debt you may never be able to repay. I would rather have med ins and NOT need it than to need it desperatly and NOT have it
If you live in a country with free health care then insurance is not needed. If health care is not free then the med insurance is fairly critical.
Medical insurance is like insurance policy in case you have unforeseen health problem to take care of out of pocket expenses and other expensive medical procedures. What if…?
It’s small price to pay for eventual unfortunate medical problem in future. Yes, it give you a peace of mind. In this fast changing world, it help to take pressure off our mind.
To pay or not to pay for the hospital bills that is a question. Also medications and doctor bills. The answer is huge.
Medical insurance will gives you more access to doctors and hospitals.
My personal experience tells me, those who have medical insurance will have better options in the event of sickeness or injuries.
I have a customer who is down with cancer. The medical insurance that he got from me covers that illness.
Imagine if he does not have any medical coverage, he will be admitted to government hospitals where he need to wait for his treatment.
Do you know that some medications are very expensive. What will you do if your doctor tells you Medicine A cost more and chances to cure is higher !. This is a life and death question. If this happen to somebody that we love we will try our best to give them the best option possible.
Or the best doctor that can cure us works in a private hospitals which is very expensive. But with medical insurance we dun have to worry about medical cost.
Medical Insurance can save life of our love ones ! Dun take chance if you can afford it.
