You only have to buy car insurance if you drive. How could you be forced to buy medical insurance if you don’t believe in medical treatment?
I’m all in favor of reform and providing a public option, but if the Republicans succeed in blocking the public option how can you tell someone they have to buy insurance they don’t want to buy? It makes no sense.

Can you imagine what your auto insurance would cost if you made a claim every time you got a flat or a tune up ?
Or what your home owners insurance would cost if you made a claim every time a light bulb burned out or you wanted your carpet cleaned ?

Maybe that’s the reason medical insurance premiums are so high ?

Okay……..since when did “promoting the general welfare” go beyond roads, infrastructure, and basic public services, and start including social security retirement? Unemployment compensation? And now nationalized medical insurance?

When I was a cub, my parents had “major medical” insurance coverage. They paid for routine medical expenses out of pocket. Only major medical expenses were paid by insurance.

IMO, the less people pay in out-of-pocket costs, the more people will use and abuse the insurance coverage — and drive up the cost.

I know Republicans are so dead set against Universal Health care . People with out medical care will certainly spread disease with out even knowing it . Poor working class people who can not afford Medical insurance will certainly go to work with the flu or risk losing their income . People who work at restaurants drive a cab or work at a grocery store (who handle money BTW ) seldom have health INS. This is how the flu spreads so quickly.
