My husband works but only makes about 800.00 a week not taking taxes out or gas out of his check so we do not quailify for healthy start. But there are people who do not work that get free everything from the state and a family working can not get help with medical insurance.

How do you shop for and evaluate medical insurance. I’ve been paying Group Health over $400 per month for a single person and:
Dr visits – not covered
Prescriptions – not covered
Lab tests – not covered
Specialist referrals – not covered
Vision check – not covered

I can’t find anything that IS covered. $430 per month and they charged me $270 to squrit water in my ear to remove ear wax.

There are many forms of socialized medical insurance in the world. Many allow free choice of physicans and most allow private practice to exist side by side. Presently, we have some 40 million people without insurance and many of these people take up valuable time and space at out emergency rooms. Many hospitals have gone bankrupt as a result of caring for these uninsured. The system is broken.

My husband and I both pay only $21/month for medical insurance…but when I had to take him to the ER, the insurance only covered $17 and I still have to pay $277! For cryin’ out loud! AND when I was injured (friggin walmart insurance co. denied my claim 4 freakin times!) Not only did I have to pay out of pocket the $300 ER bill, but now I’ve been sent to collections for $297 from the physician that I was never billed for! ***!!!??? This can’t be right, HE DIDN’T EVEN DO ANYTHING!!!!!! I spoke with an attorney and he said lawsuits are expensive and I’d be out more through a lawsuit, than to just pay the bill! What should I do?
