I would like to have a Psychiatric evaluation and maybe continue counseling if needed for some problems I’ve been having that I can’t seem to resolve on my own, but I have no money, and no medical insurance. I really feel that it’s something I should do to better my life and help me become a more functioning member of society. I just want to know what paths there are for me to take if any at all to get this moving.

I have no job due to our wonderful economy. I have no medical insurance. The only income I get is from my aunt and my dad. My aunt is against psychology and gives out her max. My dad is very poor and can only afford to give me $100. If I spend any money on anything but rent and food, my mom and I will not eat and be kicked to the streets.

Please help.
How do I contact social services? I get no government assistance of any kind. I’m completely ignorant to all this.

Unless you go to a psychiatrist who puts you on meds, the regular psychologists are not covered by medical care. Is that the case with all insurance providers? I can’t find one that covers psycotherapy by a PHd and not an MD therapist.

I am very depressed and think taking something would help. Who do I call or how doI 1. find a dr with no insurance that won’t charge me 12 million dollars and 2. tell them i’m depressed? Can I do that with a family dr or does it need to be head dr?

I would like to get back on meds and get better but it’s nearly impossible considering my situation. Currently I am a college student with a very low income who doesn’t have medical insurance. I just recently switched jobs so I wouldn’t be able to get medical insurance through my company. Is there any other way for me to be able to get back on medication?
