I was referred to an oral surgeon a few weeks ago bc my wisdom teeth are growing in. I used my insurance which is Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. My annual maximum is 2500$ and my annual deductible is 0$. They sent me a bill for the consultation for 90$. The dentist didn’t cover anything. Why would that be? Isn’t my dental supposed to cover it? That is why I am asking if Oral surgeons are covered under medical or dental? Maybe my dental didn’t cover it bc it is under medical? Thanks!

I have alot of dental problems, i need 15 crowns on the top alone just basic bad tooth enamel. Its not from brushing or flossing since i do that daily. I have dental insurance but not as good as my medical. So is there a way to get it submitted through medical.
I don’t have delta dental in my state though. And the dentist i go to requires it paid at the time of service.
