When I was a cub, my parents had “major medical” insurance coverage. They paid for routine medical expenses out of pocket. Only major medical expenses were paid by insurance.
IMO, the less people pay in out-of-pocket costs, the more people will use and abuse the insurance coverage — and drive up the cost.
For a foreigner who will be traveling to the US and it is very likely that she will give birth here, is there any medical insurance to cover part of the birth expenses?

I got a medical plan coverage but my mom doesn’t. I was wondering if I can use my coverage to get her some prescription drugs. She used to have medical insurance but ever since she got laid off, she’s unable to pay for drugs which she needs to have in order for her to be healthy. It is hard for her to pay full price so I was wondering if I can use my medical benifits to get her the drugs she needs?

my boyfriend has these painful migraines constantly and he refuses to do anything about it because he does not have medical insurance. he also has high blood pressure. so where can he go around the san bernardino county in california to see a doctor where it wont cost a lot?
I know Republicans are so dead set against Universal Health care . People with out medical care will certainly spread disease with out even knowing it . Poor working class people who can not afford Medical insurance will certainly go to work with the flu or risk losing their income . People who work at restaurants drive a cab or work at a grocery store (who handle money BTW ) seldom have health INS. This is how the flu spreads so quickly.

We are going to be loosing our current medical insurance through my husbands employer and are going to purchase medical and dental insurance privately. I want to know who offers the best plan for your money. Is there companies to look out for and are there any companies that are highly recommended. Just wanting some input. Thank You…:)
I currently am receiving quotes for medical insurance and I have this one policy quote that does not list a deductible, but it does list this Major Medical Deductible for $3500.00 & total out of pocket $6000.00? What does this mean? Is this for Emergency care only?

My employer is a small business owner and does not provide benefits (health insurance, 401k, etc.). My wife and I are pretty health, so even with the insurance premiums – we don’t have enough medical expense to use as an itemized deduction (7.5% of gross earning). Is there any options for me to be able to pay my insurance premiums with pretax dollars?
